Current Baskets was formed by Morgan Abu, a recent immigrant to the United States from Bolgatanga, Ghana, West Africa. Morgan’s dream is to provide an environmentally safe product while paying the artisans a current, fair price for their creations and giving back to his community.
The Mission of Current Baskets, therefore, is to support the creative work of the local artisans while supporting the local community and providing a natural, sustainable product for consumers.
Current Baskets donates 10% of its profits to the weavers for community development such as providing clean water, subsidizing national health insurance for the weavers, and contributing toward children’s school fees. Your continuing patronage will contribute to empowering these women artisans.
